I’ve got some pet projects pilling up, so I’ve decided to write about them. first one on the list is a pedestrian traffic light my friend found and wanted to do something cool with it.
his idea was just to make the light blink, but I wanted something more exciting and if possible, interactive.
since the lights run on 220v ac, first thing on the list was to buy a simple controller with two relays. fortunately I found a cheap one on ali express
I flushed it with esphome and installed all the cables inside.
after verifying everything works and I can make the lights blink, I scavengeג my arduino sensors box and found a simple motion detection modules.
I 3d printed a small enclosure and taped it at the bottom
these modules are extremly unpredictable, and I could make sense of when they are activated, but this randomness was perfect for this project.
